Just... It gives me goosebumps, and leaves me speechless...

Two real legends...

The King Of The High C's and The Godfather Of Soul...one would be hard pressed to find a combination like that again for millenias to come.

I can't put into words how seeing that made me feel... Goosebumps, awe, tears... One of those combinations that is inspired...

Yeah... I doubt anything like that will be seen again for a very long time....

There were so many times that I *almost* got to see him perform in concert. My parents and sister were able to hear him live several times and for whatever reason, the timing was never right for me. I regret that.

I read his autobiography a few months back - what an incredible...light...this man was.

I think anyone would be able to plainly see that this man had a passion for life - even if you didn't know who he was (and let's face it, you'd have to be living under a rock if you didn't) - his eyes alone couldn't hide that passion - so impish, always twinkling with mischeif. =)

But yeah, his life journey was a great story and I will be one of the many people that is really heartbroken that his light has, in a way, left our world.

His imprint is forever though...
