The veggies I eat, the quality of meat I eat (organic), no dairy, how I sleep, the kind of company I keep (in all aspects of my life). But I guess I can afford to be picky in these things too.
I'm extremely picky about people I'm going somewhere with being on time. It's too much to expect early, but no more than 5 minutes late or I get REALLY FREAKING PISSED.
I'm also picky about short speak. You know, the stuff people use on the 'net or their phones for text messaging. It really makes me cringe. If someone starts a conversation that way online or sends me an email like that, I lose it. They've blown every chance they had to make a good impression.
-Brand of ketchup (Heinz) -Food in general (I'm VERY picky when it comes to food, unfortunately) -How stuff is put away. It has a place and needs to be put in it's place.
I think words really are only a tool. I think that the more understanding one has of the proper usage that the more expressive the user can be. It's like knowing how to play a guitar or use oil paints or forging a sword. The idea forces the expression, the expression flavors the story, then the story moves the world.
I've been playing with this idea lately that if you move the story, that you change the world and if you move the world you change the story. Also, tied into this train of thought is that the story and the world are inexorably tied forever and that nothing can ever change that (although clever men with agendas will try and fail to pervert it).
All this came from looking at the major arcana in the tarot deck. I saw a story there, and at the same time, the world. Funny when you see shit from another perspective, eh?
at work, a lot of things, because organized workflow increases productivity and minimizes errors. at least, that's what i mean when i tell people to get their heads out of their asses.
outside of work, i get picky about random things. i get angry when commentators announce the wrong players' names on football plays, especially when they don't correct themselves. i'm picky about language, especially grammatical errors, because i figure if you're going to speak only one language, you might as well do it properly.
by the by, i'm going to be emailing you a little welcome to football season gift later on today. you'll thoroughly enjoy it, i swear.
I could just take the easy route and say that I'm picky about everything, but that's only a half truth. When it comes to myself I am picky about a variety of things. Some, but not all, of them are: my appearance, my clothing, how I present myself, the way I speak to others, controlling my sense of humor, my work ethic, my manners, how clean the kitchen and bathroom are, organizing my things, returning phone calls, painting my toe nails, making my bed, my grammar, and actually using real words when I text people (I make exceptions once in awhile for one person as a joke).
Then I take a deep breath and remind myself that only I can control myself and what I do, everything else is someone else's perception.

I'm picky about food. I'm picky about the way my home looks. I'm picky about pictures of myself. I'm picky about how my room smells when you first enter it. It has to smell really nice. We live in a flat so I'm constantly worried people will smell the cat litter even though it's clean. I'm picky about my clothes and how I look in them. I'm picky about things being left out when they have not been used for days. I'm picky about my graphics. I have to get James' opinion before showing it to anyone.
