Oddly... they all seem to work for me, accept the one that lets me see my friend's page... it sends me to exampleusername's livejournal...

You need to set your username by right clicking at the bottom and going to settings... :)

It should be on the status bar at the bottom... and you'll need to right click on it to get to the settings page, where you set your username etc :)

It gives me the occasional notification of a friends page in a pop up, but no buttons or anything.

It doesn't matter really.
