What would you rather do; suck the marrow out of life, live scandalously, swing from the rafters, and party like it's 1999 - or turn into the old people that are waiting to see how the book ends instead of writing each chapter with passion?

I am trying to write the book, but - like most story - it's not really me in the driving seat (On the other hand, I cheat on navigation and it helps a lot).

Spectating can be as a valid form of enjoying life as boogeying the night away in some over-heated, over-crowded smoke filled club. And you'll still be able to hear bird-song the next morning.
On the other hand, I'm also very fond of the Czech Pilsner Urquell, myself.

And turning into an old person waiting to see how the book ends isn't a bad thing either if you keep on living with passion - but I understand the sentiment of the question and smiled at its wording. =)

........and further more! Below is a link to an article on the death of Ned Sherrin. I met him a few times in London back in the late 70's. He was not a disco / loud party dance all night kind of person. He loved the kind if party that included good food, wine, beautiful people and above all intelligent conversation. I'd like to live the rest of my life like he did.
