*Looks out the meeting room window* Bright smurf blue with white and grey sheep-like clouds coming in, eating their way into the the blue prairie... Fast too (they must be ravenous).
Right now, it's dark but I can feel the thick clouds pressing down on me. It's just about to start raining for another night. During the day, when the clouds break their hold on the sky, it's infinite blue and the sun comes down at a slant that makes everything glow.
Virgina/DC/Maryland skies can be gorgeous at times. In the fall it can get clear blue without a cloud. And at sunset/sunrise time we actually get some nice pink color and cloud formations. In the winter, the sky can get all dramatic, that this freaky shade of ultramarine blue. It's weird. Or it can get that crackly gray color right before it snows. Not just gray, but a gray that looks like its about to crackle into snow.
Most of the time it is enormous and the kind of blue that hurts your eyes. Most people from other parts of the country really cannot handle how big and open the sky is. Kind of the reverse of clausterphobia.
well when i first opened the tab the sky was grey and threatening, but now coming back to this tab the sun has broken through, and illuminated the clouds from behind to form some opaque off white mess, i am just thankful for the break in the temperature and the humidity ;)
Two suns, one purple, the other green against a lovely mauve background. Clouds shaped like umbrellaed tricycles and giant fish. I'm not sure why you ask; yours must look the same.
Right now? It's a lovely cornflower blue with fluffy white cumulus clouds. It's picture-perfect. In fact, I think I'll take a photo of it with my camera and upload it to my journal once I've finished the update I'm working on :)(I'd use the "real" camera, but Paul's got the card-reader.)
Mind you, we'll have a horrid rainstorm later-- we do almost every day here in Florida this time of year ;)
Around sunset, it was full of cotton candy rainbows and silvery-gold streams of pure enlightenment. Winged creatures darted in and out of the beams, stealing bits of light to place them in the growing blue-black velvet.

Great fun to take piccies of.
Today's weather is a pleasant 24C with the possibility of a thundery shower, which means clouds will be painted across the sky.
Nutty

Date: 2007-10-08 10:19 pm (UTC)It's warm here today in the 80's. We've had some Santa Ana conditions (meaning windy) so the sky is clear.
