Seems to me that it is. Doesn't mean that everything in life is dictated by it, but certain things do seem kind of fated; for instance, early this year, I got a chance to do a little of the "sow the wild oats/be a player" thing, which is rare for a geek, and I found that it just wasn't my thing. Then I put up a Craigslist ad, wasn't really looking for anything serious, got a response that I weighed very carefully if I was going to answer her, and I met Ariel, who's now living with me. Was it fate? I think maybe we were meant to meet each other. If you extend that back, I was meant to meet Jen two and a half years ago, if for no other reason than if I hadn't, I probably wouldn't have visited Boston, at least not for awhile; I would have met one love(the city) eventually, but completely missed the other(Ariel).
Interesting question to ponder. I don't get enough of these in my diet. :)
