To do whatever it takes to be happy so long as you can teach others and not harm them. If you can't teach them, then in lieu of that, make them smile, even if it's at your own expense. Be as selfish as you can about your happiness and fuck everything else. People like people that tend to stay happy. Take happiness in any way you can; horde it.
No matter how bad it gets or how bleak things seem, keep moving forward. Darkness will eventually be filled with light...for one cannot exist without the other.
Do I have to just pick one? Cos that is a hard choice!
1. Let people be responsible for themselves and their own stuff. 2. Be responsible for myself and my own stuff. 3. Healthy boundaries with people make a world of difference. 4. Say what you mean and mean what you say. 5. Stay away from men who can help themselves from punching holes in walls when they cannot have their way.
Oh, and here's another one: In order for you to eat, something must die; but that's not important. What is important is that it's a license to let unimportant things slide.
There's only so much you can do for someone who doesn't really want your help, even if they say they do. Sometimes, you just have to let people deal with their own shit and you can't help, no matter how hard that is.
Patience... and knowing when to push things along. Being emotionally self-sufficient and yet still being able to love. Learning to be generous. Being flexible. If salt is not available for taking things with a pinch of salt, fish sauce works just as well.
There are other things I've learned, but these float to the top at the moment.
I read your other post before this one but yeah, 'enjoy the moments' will forever be engrained in me because of that beautiful friend of ours. =)
And in general, faith that everything is in God's will. He's never surprised with what's going on with me and I have faith that he's got my back. That thought always gives me peace.
