What is your modus operandi when you go clothes shopping?

I decide if a store is worthwhile after a quick stroll through, and if it is, I'll browse further... :)

Pick out the store that has the largest collection so there's no chance I'll have to shop further. I'm one of the very few women who hates shopping, much less clothes shopping.

Go on line, find clothes, order clothes, go back to what I was doing.

(I don't clothes shop in person. I *hate* it.)

Get in, get out as quickly as possible. If at all possible just avoid clothes shopping all together

Cheap and fast. Tesco, probably.

I tend to be able to make decisions like that fairly quickly. If garment X fits me and is a reasonable price, I know immediately whether I want it or not, so I don't have to spend a lot of time shopping.

Get into denial.
Kick myself into doing it.
Grab the first thing that fits and will not be too maintenance intensive.
Run back home, take a shower to wash off the stress and have a cup of tea.

The internet and my mail order catalogue. I rarely do actual shopping for clothes - there's little choice in Dumfries unless you have a lot of money or dress like a hooker.

Find nearest C.S.R. and ask, "You got a big and fat section?"

Usually I already know where I want to shop, what I want, need, etc. and get the heck out!

If I am in a new area though, I'll do the same. Quick stroll and if I like I continue to browse further.

Generally I go in with a list of what I need. I can be distracted by the bright and shiny though.

I don't. I let other people, who know my tastes, buy me clothes for Xmas.

Unless Faire garb counts... then I am the perfect Libran Male - I'm a shopping whore for historically accurate garb.

I window shop...and if something catches my eye (oooh shiny) I'll go in and browse...unless I'm going with something specific in mind.

If I'm in the mood to shop for clothes, I'll look for things I need for work (or can wear to work). Otherwise, I have a mental list of items I need/want to replace - like jeans, socks, undies, etc.

If I'm being a tourist, I'll usually end up with a t-shirt from wherever I've been. (Although, I'm working on NOT collecting t-shirts now. I have way too many and am weeding them way down.)

If I happen to be in the mood for shopping for leather... Then it's off to the leather shops and finding sales and trying stuff on. (Usually, it's a lazy day and I've got time to kill.)

I loathe shopping for clothes 90% of the time. If I do have to go, then I am usually going for a specific purpose/article of clothing and therefore know what I'm getting and where to get it. And I get frustrated very quickly if my original gameplan doesn't pan out for whatever reason, which it usually doesn't. The store will inevitably be out of my size or the item altogether. Ugh - even thinking about shopping right now is irritating.

Funny enough, I just did a bunch of clothes shopping yesterday.

I ran in, grabbed a bunch of stuff that might be close to my size (since it's changing), tried them on and high tailed out of there.

I /hate/ shopping.

while i'd say i'm abnormal it seems most women really don't enjoy clothes shopping. myself included. especially if i know specifically what i want. there isn't a chance in hell i'm going to find it. but when i have to do some shopping usually it is online or at a store where i'm pretty sure i'll find what i want. :D

Ugh....my least favourite kind of shopping. I really have to have hit a point of desperation. If I don't find something I like and that fits me within the first 20 minutes of being in the store (many times less than that), I'm done. I have to give it another try another day. I just have zero patience for shopping, but especially for clothes for me.

I'm extremely picky about what i wear, so that kinda limits the entire shopping experience. If i can't find anything i like after a quick sweep of the store, i leave. Unless i'm with someone and then i whine until they're driven insane. (except my best friend. she's the only one i don't push to hurry up 'cause i like giving my opinion about what she tries on.)

Anyhoo, back to me. I usually shop at thrift shops 'cause i'm cheap. I'll scan the racks looking for stuff that will look good on me and also looks like it won't fall apart if it's breathed on. I have high standards for the clothes i buy in that regard, mostly 'cause i'm very tough on my clothes. Even the nice stuff. I tug on the seams, check the material for wear, make sure there's no loose threads, etc...

Then comes trying the stuff on. Anything that doesn't fit right or is too small/big is immediately thrown to the side. Anything that does fit right is admired for a minute or two, checking me out from all angles.

If it's a blouse, i unbutton the front enough to see how my cleavage looks. :)

If they're pants or a skirt, i check out how my butt looks. I've had pants fit perfectly, but my rear didn't look right, so those were thrown on the reject pile. Yup, i'm very very picky. :)

Holy crap, this is long. But yeah. I don't love shopping, but i sure do like it a heckuva lot.

Usually I wander through, scowl at everything and leave with nothing. Though, today was unusual, I spent $140 at Macy's and found some stuff I really like, everything was on sale, too. I got a $60 pair of jeans for $5! And some other great deals.

I usually order on line but the rare occasion I go shopping in town , I tend to only go to one or two places and if I don't find anything I like I give up come home and order online.
