Early spring is my favorite time of year, so I look forward to it.
It's too much to really explain, but I will say that it means the Bus Stop Magnolia is going to bloom again. (It has a couple weeks yet before it does this year- this photo is from 2005)
It means that Hot Season is just around the corner....the universe doesn't ever go to sleep here. It sometimes gets a little drowsy is all. But we've got maybe a month before we are back to slow-death-by-sun-season.
I know it sounds kind of lame, but I always get a little bummed out when spring comes. To me it means that the stifling humidity and too-hot-for-me-to-even-go-outside temperatures are just around the corner, and I dread those things like the plague.
I'm definitely an autumn/winter girl. I like cold, dry, crisp air to breath and walk around in, so I'm kind of the opposite of most people. I'm out and about all the time in the winter and when the warmer months come, I'm hiding in my house just waiting for it be over with.
It means the end of the Epic Coldness of Doom that is the winter here. And that = positive. Positive thought, positive action. It makes everything a little less heavy and serious, which is always good.
Spring... it's rather non-existant in this part of Canada. It often goes right from winter to summer. Usually with a few footdeep snowfalls in May just so we don't forget that winter's only a few months away.
Though apparently in Edson, spring also means mud, mud and oooh, more mud. As the muskeg defrosts for the season. Makes me wonder why I moved here.

The rise of the Sun King.
Open windows.
Fear of the coming heat waves of summer. Yargh.
OH... and let's not forget allergens and lots of humidity on the marshy estuaries of the Chesapeake!
