If you could take any musicians, living or dead, and form them into a dream band, who would you choose?

Smokey Robinson, Eric Clapton, Phil Collins, Stevie Wonder, Duke Ellington, Aretha Franklin, and Quincy Jones :D

Keith Moon-drums
Ringo Starr-drums
Jimi Hendrix-lead guitar
Keith Entwistle-bass guitar
Freddy Mercury-male vocals tenor
Jim Croce-acoustic guitar
Janis Joplin-female vocals
Melissa Etheridge-female vocals

I think that will do--unless I wanted to add Frank Zappa on rhythm guitar...

I totally want to join that band, and since you don't have a keyboardist... :-)

My dream band would be myself in lead vocals with Nickelback as my backup. Yup. ;)

I've always wanted to play a few sets with the Chieftains. I'd play my dulcimer and sing. I know that isn't what you are asking exactly, but it's 4 AM and I'm not thinking clearly yet... :D

Jaco Pastorius & Dick Lövgren on bass guitars; Neal Peart & Dave Weckl on drums; Al DiMeola & Steve Hackett on guitars; Keith Emerson and Tony Banks on keys; and Annie Lennox, Rob Halford and Freddy Mercury on vocals.

Damn! What a tough question!

Yea, I thought about Count Basie for the keys, but I already had a couple blacks and an Asian, I needed a gay guy:)

I would like to see the following bands, in alphabetical order, merged together for at least one night: Blackmore's Night, Fairport Convention, Jethro Tull, and Horslips.

Edit: And maybe the Chieftains with Loreena McKennitt, too... and there's another band I'm forgetting but I haven't had enough coffee yet to recall it. I think if I saw Loreena McKennitt and Candice Night sing together, I would just cum, right there, on the spot.
