At 61 he was only 4 years older than me so I grew up on his music and loved it. I remember buying Hot Buttered Soul back in the 60's & 70's along with Shaft and other Greatest Hits albums that were popular back then.
When ever he comes on the radio or TV singing you don't need to ask or look, you just know it's him..
