I'm sorry, I just feel that everyone's complete verbalized disdain of the man is disrespectful. He didn't throw this country down the toilet by himself, yet he's the only one blamed for it. Yeah, he's not a great speaker, lets take him out back and shoot him. Every president has had their shortcomings, but none have taken the heat for them like Bush II.

Every president has had their shortcomings, but none have taken the heat for them like Bush II.

That statement is incorrect.  I can name a few just off the top of my head:

Lyndon Baines Johnson for Vietnam
Richard Millhouse Nixon for Watergate
Gerald Ford for pardoning Nixon
Jimmy Carter for the gas shortage crisis and the Iran hostage crisis

I'm sure there are others, but those are the ones that stand out for me.

I can't wait to see Obama fuck up...lets see what everyone says then.

I'd rather NOT see Obama fuck up merely for the sake of having those who didn't support him say, "See!  Told you so!"

Obama "fucking up" means we the people will pay for it.  No thanks, I'd rather see recovery than any further erosion of the economy.  I'd rather see people moving toward getting back on their feet than landing on their asses again.  To wish this president to "fuck up" merely for the sake of getting to say "I told you so" is just as mean spirited as those you are chastising in your comment.  That, my dear, is even more disrespectful than verbalized disdain for the outgoing administration.

And no, I'm NOT a Republican.

I don't espouse in lock step to either party's line.  I'm an American, first and foremost, and as an American, I find it highly offensive that you would wish further suffering for your fellow citizens just so you can "have the last laugh".

The day he went in and got that bastard Saddam Hussein. Best money spent..EVAH!

The day he sat there and said we would not be afraid of terrorists.

And finally, the day he released those border patrol agents for that murder on the border. Vigilante murder or whatever. I hope Obama does the right thing and actually PARDONS them.

These were silver lining in his otherwise screwed up campaign.

While your answer is priceless (and I have argued that he has kept this economy going with all those little Bush sayings calendars they make from all the weird things he says) I must say that I have to agree with many of the people who have left comments here already.
He has done a lot of good, it's just mostly overlooked because people feel the need to constantly criticize him. A lot of problems finally were visible from Clinton, and Bush just did his best to fix them.
All in all, he has done his job and been pretty amusing while doing so.

When you leave an office of power, like Bush did. People tend to focus on the bad things that happened during the time he served, and not the good things.

He did have a lot of power, but he couldn't do everything without the US Congress agreeing on it.

As a psych person he is the perfect case study of someone feeling entitled, who focuses only on himself and has no true grasp on reality. Even with his ending press tour he REFUSED to admit he screwed up and people who don't see it...obviously have not lost anyone to the altar of his stupidity.

One of his first college graduation speeches when he addressed the C students in the back of the group and said, "See? You really CAN become President of the United States."

As the mom of a C student who worked her butt off, I appreciated that very much.

It was sad to see him so abused this morning. I don't know. I really don't. I wish I knew more about the decisions he made and how they happened. I hope I am wrong about what I have believed about him and I choose to go forward in forgiveness.
