I love Valentine's Day... but it's always been about friends more for me. I send out cards to all the best ones, and my parents and grandparents, just sweet little reminders that they're important and I love them. I like it because everyone smiles. With my ex-boyfriend it was the one day that I always new was going to be good, (though since it was long distance two and a half of our four years, Valentine's Day wasn't actually on Valentine's Day, but encompassed an entire weekend on one side or the other of it, and, since my birthday is in February, was kind of birthday combined, since getting together twice in one month didn't make any logistical sense.) Those were the only weekends I knew I'd get him all to myself, and the only ones I can remember spending so much time together and not fighting.
Technically, I don't get to have a Valentine this year, (he's far away, and we don't do Holidays, not technically being in a relationship and all,) but as the result of a weird conversation we had last time I was home, he's getting roses and an "I love you" bear delivered to his apartment... I just wish I could be there to see his reaction, though I'm plenty excited about the phone call. :)
