i think people write about it more because they need a release. happiness you can share with a lot of peopel and you are greated with happiness and people wanting to hear about it, but when it comes to sad and dark things, people dont always want to hear about it because it depresses everyone else. so in relation to writting about, i think thats why. and in terms of fictional stuff, because happiness more people can relate to while not everyone can relate to dark and sad feelings and a lot are curious about what those feelings feel like

I find them all the same interesting when it comes to art. For instance i prefer darkness/sadness in songs, poems or stories, but i like happy ones too and i like light paintings.I like some dark paintings too,but i wouldn't keep one in my house.:)

I prefer darkness to light because the dark can cover the imperfections and everything looks more beautiful and mysterious. And i like darker things by nature, can't explain that, but it doesn't mean i don't like light as well(i prefer shiny days to cloudy/dark days).

About love and pain...well love brings pain most of the time so they are kinda related.Personally i "like" pain, because when i suffer i realize how many beautiful things happen to me most of the time and how lucky i am and it helps me to enjoy all the simple things in life.It might seam odd,but i need to suffer in order to be happy...:)

How can you appreciate the light without seeing the shadow? :)

Nice question even though i'm not sure what you want me to answer.:P

But of course you can't appreciate the light without seeing the shadow, like you can't appreciate the good things when you never seen a bad thing and so on.You can't appreciate one thing if you don't know it's opposite.(to me the shadow it's part of the darkness) :)

We have more words to describe pain and darkness (because we can express these through a gamut of emotions more complex than happiness etc) and because of this our imagination can soar deeper (and our questions are deeper too when we question pain and bad things) .. and so darkness and pain take on another dimension. I think we accept that we should be happy and have love ... but pain and darkness are unacceptable and often seen as very bad things thus drawing people's attention more (it takes more of our emotions to deal with this than the other happier emotions).

Definitely... Love calms... Pain causes a reaction, and every reaction varies, so there is more to see.

Also, light leaves no illusions, everything is visible, yet in the darkness there are always questions...

Light is the medium for every illusion. Darkness can hide you, protect you those looking for you to further some nefarious purpose. It can be a shield. Light simply reveals. It shows you what looks like a delicious apple, but not that it might be rotten within.

Darkness and light each have its own purpose, its own place in all schemes. I think that ultimately, whether darkness or light is perceived as attractive is determined by how well it's marketed. Slick movie action heroes killing off hundreds of henchmen like in The Matrix are more attractive than some trailer-trash crack-whore killing dozens of johns at the interstate highway rest-stops.

Except of course in the case of magical practices. In which case the light and the dark are delved into the equal fervour and passion and depth.

Pain and darkness more interesting?...diagree, I would rather feel and touch the light of love! I write the pain and the dark, to be rid of it, I write of light and love, to bring a smile and to relieve the pain of others.

But everyone had definitely felt pain.

You cannot be human, and not feel the pain.....but there is all kinds of pain, pain in love lost or in deferring opions, it is still light, and renewable......darkness, is destruction, we/I, have felt that evil...I would rather give the light.

I'm not sure, but being in darkness, you don't lose hope for anything..
Trying to find light and love.. it takes a lot out of you sometimes, and sometimes it's fruitless even then..

I wish sometimes that someone out there, was simply just.. searching for me as well o.o

That's easy: Everyone is raised to shun evil and act good, so there's a vacuum where evil should be. Nature abhores a vacuum, so good peole are attracted to evil. When you practice nothing but good, even if it's by your own twisted standards, it becomes banal. Evil is different, therefore interesting.
