As said by the above post, instinct guides your initial decision. However, if I found myself in a friendly mine field without any guidance, I would carefully consider where I placed my foot each time.
Once I was out, I would follow my instinct and kick the arse off the idiot who forgot to put up the warning signs. If said idiot was my superior, I would carefully consider the best method of arse-kicking which would minimize the chance of me being demoted or locked up.
