Sometime the flight clouds your judgment, and you forget the fall. You even forget that you CAN fall sometimes. The learning is in the tempering of your persistence, or the caution taken to avoid the fall next time. The more you can say "the sky is the limit" even after falling short each time, the stronger the resolve you gain each time.
The will for something is the first step in gaining what you want. When your will falters, so does your flight. You gain nothing when you fall when you had no will for flying anyway except the realization that you don't like falling.
