Sister Kathleen - first nun that didn't scar scare me, and inspired me to enjoy education. Mrs. Hagan - she never made me feel like a freak, even though we both knew I was/am. Jerry - he hired me because I made him laugh. I still do. :)
my favorite taecher is the math teacher. She does her job very well and is a graet person from every point of view :) i always liked my math teachers...i guess i have a thing for them...or more like i'm lucky :P
Mr Riley - my Irish alcoholic history teacher at school - he was (still is as far as I know) an amazing teacher, he had that knack of making the driest information sound exciting and memorable
my freshman religion teacher in high school was great. he was also our track coach. once, after we won a meet and everybody had left before we found out about it, he set off fireworks at our 5am practice, because he was drunk and mad at us.
My fave boss was Alehandro. We called him Alex. I was his fave person and it was the first time ever in school or work that I was the teachers pet, so to speak. I could look right at him and say "Nah. I don't feel like it today." and he would make someone else do it...lol. I know truly evil but truly honest.
Mrs Fields: My third/fourth grade teacher who didnt like teaching math and took us on my field trips than any other teacher in the school.. though I know more about buses than my times tables now as a result..but what can you do?
Miss Zedero: grade 8 substitute french teacher. Had a rack and butt that wouldn't quit! (I kid you not, one of the hottest women alive).
Mr.Leonard: highschool teacher who let me say "mr.leonard is a stupid head" in a homer simpson voice everyday and would return it with "Dan is a stupid head" in the same voice. I also once had him for math. When some kids were skipping class to stay outside and smoke, he took the class on a field trip and went and did equations on the sidewalk since they had decided not to come to the classroom.
Colin: my media buying/selling teacher from college. Would hold quizzes and games every week with media questions mixed with friends and seinfeld questions.
I think I broke the rules, but with so many levels of education it was only fair.
Probably my classical voice teacher is/was my favorite: she knows how to give objective criticism without being at all patronizing; she works me hard in the right direction; she trusts my sense of diligence; she can detect easily when we have come to a mutual understanding after bouts of confusion.
I'm happy to say I can think of many, but the two that spring to mind are:
Mr. Large - My English teacher in Jr. High School. He was an odd duck, but he was the first one who ever encouraged and gave me confidence in his writing. We did a "How To" paper where most everyone followed a tried and true "How to make a cake", "How to build a birdhouse" type paper. I came at the paper from a different angle and did a humorous piece on "How To Get Along With Your Parents". He loved the paper and from what I understand not only did he rave about it in my class, but he read it to every other class he had as an example of how to be creative with an assignment and do it well. I also got to be his T.A. which was fun. Oh the POWER!
T. - My first small group leader when I took my beginning Science of Mind classes. He was fresh out of Practitioner training, in love with the teaching and I was falling in love with it for the first time with him. It was only natural that we should also fall in love with each other, so after the class was over and he was no longer my teacher, he became my boyfriend. He's still one of my best friends and I will always be grateful for the sheer love of the teaching that I first experienced through his eyes.
Hi. My fav. boss was Jon.He showed me how to manage people with a real respect. He also tought me a basis knowledge of progect management. And for some reason I was given off by him and was promoted on the next grade of my career when I didn't even try to be better than I was. He sees something in people and he pushes them to jump over their heads. Very polite, very good all around. Unfortunately I left that company for bigger money, stupid me. And we didn't work together too much, so there is no way back:( He now probably thinks that I am seeking just for money...Stupid me. My fav. teacher was my father and my brother in law is. Both wise, calm, silent and very respectful to people. My dad was teaching me verbally and by his deeds. And my brother in law just teach me by his existing. Amazing people. Yours?
Teacher: Harlan Anderson, 11th grade English Comp. He believed in my talent and encouraged me to write. First academic encouragement ever.
Boss: James Holton. Make a high school dropout a corporate manager. Believed I could compose and produce serious music, and paid for it. Gave me a large enough raise to pay for flight training, then co owned an airplane with me.
