I wonder, though, how much of you gets into your writing...

A bit, every now and again. Less than you might think, particularly with the more developed world(s). More with the poetry or random bits.

That's understandable. It seems a "safe" way to disclose sometimes.

I've found that it all comes down to the level of catharsis you need... :)
