the older you get the more important comfort becomes. leg room, seat comfort, etc. after that, economy is becoming more and more important to us all. ~paul
Safety, economy, comfort and a good sound system. I've been restricted by a company car policy on my last two cars but the Renault Laguna was a good compromise - 5 star safety rating, 50 Mpg diesel, nice leather seats (shhh, don't tell the vegans!) and a stereo with steering wheel controls.
My next car is hopefully going to be a Prius ... :-)
It will get through its next MOT. We just purchased an 'L' reg Peugeot. The idea of going to a dealership and choosing a new car is beyond my comprehension.
Something small and easy to maneuver in packed city streets. Right now I have a scratched up Korean car make of plastic; not beautiful but keeps the rain off me and gets good mileage.
Manual Transmission (getting hard to find, sadly) A/C a comfortable seat, where preferably I'm not feeling like i'm in a low rider Decent mileage Something that looks cool cupholders.
My mother, however, counts cupholders first.
my mother is crazy. but not just because of the cupholder thing.
auto transmission. four door. i have to commute so good gas mileage. affordability. good consumer reports on maintenance. comfort on the inside (this doesnt mean leather plush blah bl;ah blah you better know me better than that) it means can i see comfortably? where are my blind spots? im short and many of our cars are built with a guy frame in mind to start with. this is at least my experience. i like power windows and locks. id choose locks over windows though. a/c is a must. ive learned that this summer commuting without it. i like a good sound system. not required as you can install one for not too much. i have also decided thanks to no ac that a light interior color is a good plan.
first of all, gas mileage. if it doesn't get at lesat 35 highway, i generally won't consider it, because why would i trade down in that department? also, visibility is a big concern (i.e., lack of blind spots), which has made looking for a new car that much more difficult, because apparently they're now being made so that you can't see anything. then pickup and handling, as well as trunk space, because i have to be able to take it on vacation and stuff. the dealbreaker right now is a moonroof, because everybody likes a little headroom insurance.

Date: 2007-08-29 12:43 pm (UTC)I might start looking for more if I ever buy a new car. But the two cars I've had were used and I paid cash for them.
To actually own a brand new car that's never belong to anyone else? That'd be bliss.
