...just for all the creative people out there!

I put down ten words, in no particular order, and you post in the comments a poem, a story, even a picture or a drawing, that contains or illustrates all ten words.

You can use the words in any tense, or as plurals.

Let's see who's game :)

The words:

Lily
Skirt
Fire
Break
Phone
Ocean
Jazz
Book
Child
Blood

And now, my effort:

She walked on the beach, a Lily in her hand
And the Fire in my soul ignited
Her short Skirt so tight I could not stop staring
The Book on my lap forgotten

A Phone number to hunt but my tongue is tied
And my Blood has turned to ice
I feel like a Child but my thoughts of you
Are as innocent as the Ocean is shallow

I say hello, a bundle of nerves
And your smile lights up my world
I ask you your name, "I'm Ella" you say
In a voice like the Jazz queen herself

I ask you whether you're here alone
And you're smile melts me within
My heart Breaks as you show me your ring
And you can tell my well wishes are empty

Fun :)

oo i like yours...its a cute story of a poem...here's my stab at it:
The lillies sit in their vase
Dead as the memories
She should put on her best skirt
And take them to melt into the ocean
Maybe throw them into the fire
Along with the rule book of Love
Isn't that what you did oh so long ago?
She ignores the phone that rings in the distance
She focuses on the blood sliding along her skin
The jazz music burns her ears
Like a child who touches a hot oven
She wipes at her tears
Staring blankly at the wilted flowers
Maybe her nightmares can break her of this life
But for now
She'll just hate your lillies

I like what you've done :)

Especially
She ignores the phone that rings in the distance
She focuses on the blood sliding along her skin
The jazz music burns her ears
Like a child who touches a hot oven

I will :) And a few more games I used to play with poetry :)
From: [identity profile] inmyocean.livejournal.com
Lily was her name, like the flower
print adorning her summer skirt
blowing in the breeze.
There was a fire in her eyes,
a break in her heart
and she forgot to breathe when
the phone rang
It was 'him' from across the ocean.
He hated jazz, he told her once
that it made break-ups beautiful
and love like a faerytale book.
She was a woman who's inner child
held eough love for the whole world
in her bood
Yet he would never see.

^enough.

and still yet managed to not get it right. your poor email account filled with my bad commenting attempts. sorry.

I liked doing this and what you and Sam have both come up with so far. :)

Funnily enough, I didn't get any other comments through... :/

Although the only thing I saw was that you missed out one word in bold, so no big :)
From: [identity profile] inmyocean.livejournal.com
I counted 10 bolded words and checked again just now. which one did I miss?
From: [identity profile] ayoub.livejournal.com

lilles on the table,
books scatered everywhere.
a child is crying somewhere down the hall.
the phone dangles off the hook,
the cord just about to break.

but her head is full of dreams,
of oceans and fires in the sand,
of silken skirts and old jazz records.
blood and gore have no place here.
eternal sunshine of the spotless mind,
ignorance is her bliss.

She sits by the fire
With a book in her hand
Listening to the jazz music played by her favorite band
She waiting in her lily skirt
Wishing that some day
her inner child would come and break her away from all this hurt

She has been sitting here for days
Thinking to herself this is just some kind of silly phase
The phone no longer rings
The blood continues to pour from her wings
And she can still smell the ocean water in the air

I pick up the phone.
Your voice so sultry,
it makes my blood boil.
I stand up anticipating,
wanting to hear those words
spoken from the book of love...
or lust.
I lift my skirt
to feel the fire
cupped in my hand
that only you can create.
My lily white panties
slip down to the floor.
I break my silence
with a soft moan of pleasure.
Wherever you are
I can hear jazz musicians playing.
You whisper to me
that each time we speak
it should be as special
as the first time a child sees the ocean.
My hand falls to my thigh
content and warm.
