Sometimes I believe that without God, there would be no self . . . then, on other days, I think that if there wsn't a self to believe in God, then there would be none. Hmm.

God, but I believe God is unknowable to man. I believe it's simply man's ego that tells him he "knows" what God is.
I try to trust, hope and pray that there is a God. Perhaps I'm afraid not to believe because of my basic lack of belief in mankind.

Self. The gods don't give a damn - I don't care what culture they come from and if they profess to be alone or not. They've got their own messes to clean up - why bother with a bunch of ants unless it is to kick over the anthill for amusement? I have enough drama with the other ants - screw that! I'll go about my little ant business and be happily ignored if I can by the Titans.

Besides, when I accomplish something, it's my accomplishment, the furthering of myself on the Great Journey.

I believe faith and spirituality are important but not necessarily religion or god.

Self on the other hand is extremely important, you have to believe in yourself and work to be the best person you can.

It is difficult for me to function without belief in the self. That one sense of faith has been crucial to me so far in my life. I cannot say if God is, and therefore cannot say how to relate to such an entity.

The self I know exists, but it is fallible, and so it cannot be God. But the only way to improve the self is to be acutely aware of it.
