To be perfectly honest, In the Koran, God is considered sexless, He is only called He because we live in a male dominated society... If it was a Matriarchy, God would be She... :)
it does leave open the question why the koran does not state that explicitly.... and equally why the bible and other relgious tomes don't either ......
written by men maybe ;)
think in a broader plane bro - it's a wonderful place ;)
i cannot understand why texts clearly written by men can be used to determine that birth-cradle existence of at least 50% of world population... call me a simple soul on this if you wish ;)
it's no-where as simple as i stated - but - even a few direct statements show that women have received a raw deal in religion because of a few male dominated conclaves.
permit me to say that i beleive that the world would be a far richer place if the next pope is female. similarly, permit me to say that the world would be a far more stable place if the next Haj was led by a woman with support from female ayatollahs and imams....
and nope... there is no refuge for other religions (mainstream or otherwise) either ;)
i'm not looking to offend here - merely seeking to ask why women have been excluded from something that's pretty important to most of us for thousands of years.

Look at it this way, all the current male world leaders had to listen to their mum's in their formative years, and has that made a difference?
