How do you deal with compliments?

Depends who they're coming from.

If I trust the person, I believe them, get giddy and try to show my appreciation for showing kindness to me. If I don't trust the person, I don't believe them but smile prettily, say 'thank you' and go on my merry way.

It depends on two things: the giver of said compliment and my own feelings about the compliment itself. If I respect and trust the giver, I try to respond in a gracious and appreciative way, because I truly value their praise and it makes me happy. If I don't know/trust/respect the person, I either just nod and smile or say "thank you". (Depending on the degree of familiarity I have with them.)

If I don't really believe the statement of the compliment myself, I might deny a few times before accepting it (even if I still don't really believe it).

Depends on my mood at the time and who is saying it to me, I guess. I've been known to accept them regally as my due and say something like "I'm SO glad you realize that..." or to blush and be like "whuddeva ya crazy person." :)

I love compliments, and I soak them up, but I never really believe them. If its about smarts I do, but looks? Nah. Just pretty words to sooth an ugly soul.

Depends on my mood and who the compliment is coming from. Usually with a genuine "thank you" but if I'm feeling silly or I don't think the compliment is entirely genuine I might laugh and say "I know, I'm awesome, aren't I?"

I deal with them with grace. For example, if someone compliments my zebra skirt, I say "thank you!" It's nice to receive compliments.

If it's compliments on my job, or my writting...I can usually except these with a graceful thank you and an enormous blush. If it's a compliment on my looks...I tend to duck my head and mumble an umm..thank you? and try to figure out if this person is blind or joking lol.

it used to be hard for me getting compliments, at first i didn't believe them after having so much issues about the way i looked when i was younger...but then i gained confindence and now i just smile and say thanks

If it's someone close to me I have a hard time accepting it. I'm always saying "Yeah, ok" or "I don't believe you" or "Okay you can stop teasing now" I think it depends on how I look and feel on a particular day as well.

If it's a stranger I blush mumble a thanks and then I can't look them in the eye for a while.

If it's regarding my art, I can proudly say thank you and feel good that my work has been recognised. I also like constructive criticism when it comes to my talent. I absorb and learn and grow as an artist because of it.
